Chester Hartman
Chester Hartman is Director of Research for the Washington, DC-based Poverty & Race Research Action Council and a Visiting Prof. in Columbia University’s Urban Planning Program. He is founder and former Chair of The Planners Network, a national organization of progressive urban planners. He is co-editor (with Gregory Squires) of There Is No Such Thing As a Natural Disaster: Race, Class and Hurricane Katrina (Routledge, 2006), all royalties from sale of which are going to Emergency Communities and its successor organization, Lower Nine.
