Elizabeth Lesser
Elizabeth Lesser is the co-founder and senior advisor of Omega Institute, this country's largest adult education center focusing on health, wellness, spirituality, and creativity www.eomega.org . She is the author of The Seeker’s Guide and Broken Open: How Difficult Times Can Help Us Grow (both from Random House). For 30 years Ms. Lesser has studied and worked with leading figures in the field of healing—healing self and healing society. For five years she and Eve Ensler organized Omega and V-Day’s Women and Power conferences—dialogues between women in leadership positions in a variety of areas—government, religion, activism, media, the arts, and more. Most recently, she has been working with Oprah Winfrey and the author, Eckhart Tolle, on the development of a web-based curriculum that contributes to a shift in humanity’s consciousness.
Ms. Lesser attended Barnard College and San Francisco State University. Previous to her work at Omega, she was a midwife and birth educator. The mother of three grown sons, Ms. Lesser lives in New York’s Hudson Valley with her husband.
